Watercolour Landscape at Auchencairn: Friday 4th September to Tuesday 8th September 2026.
Welcome to Auchencairn House! Where stunning outdoor scenery will inspire us to capture the landscape en plein air in watercolour.
This retreat is suitable for beginner & intermediate painters. Each day will be spent in a new location. There will be a short 20-30 minute presentation on process and materials on our projector before heading out to paint. Jason will be attentive and give short bitesize demos to support your painting throughout the day. The second half of the morning, then full afternoon sessions will be allocated for working on your own paintings with personal guidance.
During the retreat, we will talk about planning the composition and preparing the palette, colour mixing and brush techniques, proper timing in application and working with environmental factors that shape the way our watercolour behaves to create landscape in watercolour giving you take-away skills to last forever.
